Huawei MatePad Air Coming Soon to Indonesia: Lightweight Design, 144Hz OLED Display

The Huawei MatePad family in Indonesia is about to welcome a new member. Huawei is preparing to launch the MatePad Air, a tablet built around a light, slim design.

Design: Ultra-Thin and Lightweight

The MatePad Air weighs just 509 grams and measures only 5.3mm thick. This tablet features a metal unibody design with a pearlescent finish that shimmers beautifully under sunlight.

Display: 12-Inch OLED PaperMatte at 144Hz

Its display uses an OLED PaperMatte panel designed to reduce glare-inducing light reflection. The screen spans 12 inches, with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, and brightness of up to 1,200 nits.

Software and Accessories

Like most Huawei tablets, the MatePad Air comes with productivity-focused apps such as PC-level WPS AI, GoPaint, and Huawei Notes. This tablet will also be available with complementary accessories, including the M-Pencil Pro stylus and a magnetic keyboard.

Performance and Battery

Performance on the MatePad Air will be powered by a Kirin T93C chipset, with RAM starting from 8GB and 256GB of internal storage. Battery capacity comes in at 10,100mAh, claimed to last up to 16 hours of local video playback.

The MatePad Air runs on HarmonyOS 4.3. The tablet is also equipped with six speakers, two microphones, and audio tuned by Huawei Sound.

Camera

On the back of the tablet sits a 50MP camera. Tucked within its thin bezel is a 12MP front camera.

Colors and Availability

The Huawei MatePad Air will be available in three color options: white, light blue, and pink. Unfortunately, Huawei has yet to reveal pricing or a launch date for the MatePad Air in Indonesia.

“The Huawei MatePad Air will be arriving soon, and its launch can be expected in the near future,” said Edy Supartono, Senior Retail Manager at Huawei Device Indonesia, during the launch of Huawei’s newest products in Jakarta on Friday (August 28, 2026).
